SPL processes linen for the Victorian healthcare network

COVID-19 severely impacted many industries at its peak in Victoria and commercial laundry services were not immune. When the Victorian plant of SPL competitor Spotless’ was shut down due to an outbreak of COVID-19, SPL stepped in to wash and provide linen to the majority of Victoria’s Metropolitan Healthcare network within 24 hours of being called upon to assist.

SPL was able to mobilise its workforce, modify internal processes and ensure Victoria’s network of Public and Private hospitals felt no impact to their linen supply. This support allowed healthcare teams across Victoria to focus on doing what they do best; providing care for the community.

SPL services public housing towers during lockdown

After an outbreak of COVID-19 at the Flemington and North Melbourne housing estates, the Victorian State Government closed and contained nine public housing towers. SPL was honoured to have supported the State Government by providing laundry solutions during this lockdown designed to counter the spread of COVID-19 within the housing community.

SPL’s solution was executed within three days of the towers being locked down. The SPL team worked closely with the DHHS Victoria and Emergency Management Victoria to provide services to all impacted residents, ensuring access to basic hygiene needs of clean clothes and linen. This included the supply of 5,000+ linen packs to residents.

SPL services Victorian deployed ADF personnel during COVID

The Federal Government deployed 2,000+ defence personnel to assist with the Victorian COVID-19 response. SPL provided same day laundry services to these Defence personnel who were located across six hotels in Victoria. SPL implemented a COVID safe process for collections and returns and laundered 130+ bags per day over a four-month period.
